Principal Message

Dear Rugel Elementary Families,

Welcome back! I am excited to begin another school year with our returning families and those joining the Rugel community for the first time.

As we begin this new year, we look forward to continuing to live out our mission and vision by creating a school where every student is challenged, supported, and inspired to achieve excellence. This year we are taking students "To Infinity and Beyond!"

Thank you for your partnership. We can't wait to welcome our students back and begin an amazing year together!

Start of School Information

CHECKLIST

Step 1- Enrollment (New & Returning)

Ensure your student is enrolled. Both new and returning students must complete this step and upload the required documents in Skyward. ALL ENROLLMENT MUST BE DONE ONLINE. In person support is available to help navigate the online system.

Step 2- School Supplies

Rugel students need to ensure they have the required supplies and a charged device on day one of school. We will also have supplies available for anyone in need.

Step 3- Check Skyward for Teacher Assignment

If you can view your student's teacher in Skyward, your enrollment is complete! Discuss with your student their teacher's name to help them have a smooth start. IF YOU CAN NOT VIEW A TEACHER NAME, ENROLLMENT IS INCOMPLETE AND ACTION IS REQUIRED.

Step 4- Plan to attend Meet the Teacher Night and Supply Drop Off!

Supply drop off and meet the teacher are Thursday August 6, 2026 5:00-6:30!

PreK and Kinder Students will also be able to to participate in a special event on Monday August 10, 2026 from 8:00am-10:00 am. This is another chance to practice first day of school and meet the teacher.

Step 5- Communicate Dismissal Plan to Teacher

Make sure the teacher knows how your student will get home. A student can be a walker, car rider, bus rider, daycare, or Right at School. Send a note with your student and expect a call from the teacher to confirm.

Step 5- Review the Campus Dress Code

Rugel Elementary will follow the traditional dress code. RUGEL IS NOT PARTICIPATING IN THE STANDARDIZED DRESS CODE.

Step 6- Love on Your Babies & Get Them Excited for School!

Rugel staff is excited to welcome your babies!

Arrival and Dismissal Information

Arrival

Normal Arrival Plan

All cars will go to the front drive located on Sybil to drop off students.
There will be two lanes in use with the middle lane remaining open.
Car riders and walkers will enter in door 1 (Main Building Entrance).
Parents are not allowed to walk student to class and will need to wish them a great first day outside or in the car. Staff will be available to get them to the right place in the building.

Dismissal

Normal Dismissal Plan

PreK-2nd grade car riders will dismiss to the front drive on Sybil.
3rd-5th grade car riders will dismiss to the back parking lot located on Hermitage Drive.
Parent(s) picking up students in a car must have the car tag displayed, if not parent(s) will have to park and show their ID in the front office.
Walkers will be dismissed from door 13
